Dreamweaver CS4 behaving slow?

Yeah me too
I love the new look and overall use of it, but it was dragging arse like none other.
Discovered from watching Process Explorer that AVG AntiVirus was fingering around in every little thing I did while using the program.
The fix: Add exceptions to the AVG Resident watch- Double-click AVG tray icon, Double-click 'Resident Shield', Click 'Manage exceptions', add these folders:
C:\Program files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
C:\Users\your user name\App Data\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4
And probably add all the other Adobe programs you have that might be suffering too.
This got my DW CS4 responding and performing quick a bit better. Hope it works for you too.
Now.. for Photoshop CS4 <groan> that'll be another story sometime soon.

You are my freaking hero
I use avast! antivirus, but the tip worked for me as well . . . I was pulling my hair out with the 30 and 60 second wait times when switching from Dreamweaver to another open program and vice versa . . . this clear-cut those times down to 2-3 seconds. Thanks!
Good!!
